Hahahah free internets at Rensselaer Train Station :D:D:D:D Thx Roadrunner.
I arrived safely at the train station after scaring myself. See I bought this bag (although mine has two pockets, one on each side, that I never use). I put my credit card and permit in one of those to keep it safe.
lightfromlight drove me to the Plaza, and I went to a bus stop to wait for a bus to Rensselaer. I missed the first bus to the train station by two minutes (On the opposite side of the street :(:(:( ) then I went looking in my pockets for my card and ID. I couldn't find them so I freaked out, panicked, and called tckma for help -- I had forgotten to write down my reservation # for the train. He helped me out by texting me the reservation # and I hopped on the 24 bus, which goes to Troy but via Rensselaer and East Greenbush. So I was all set. I went and got my ticket, no problems, and then I realized that I forgot to pack 2 things: 1) my headphones (there goes my plan of playing movies on the train) 2) a pair of black pants to wear on Black Friday. I'm a moron. I ALWAYS forget to pack SOMETHING whenever I go on a trip.
Audience participation time: What do you always ALWAYS forget to pack on a trip and have to consciously remind yourself to pack? Usually for me it's deodorant, but I've gotten better about that.
Anyway, I'm at the Amtrak station, my trian is apparently 30 minutes late, and I'm currently babysitting some guy's bags while he goes to get some tea. There's a Coffee Beanery outlet here, and I'm tempted to get a drink for the train cause I have snacks but no drinks. But I bought a Starbucks peppermint mocha earlier, so I'm conflicted.
I still can't talk very well ( tckma and lightfromlight can vouch for this!). This irritates me. |
Yeah, deodorant. I usually keep one in my truck, just in case, but often end up having to stop somewhere and grab one, which usually results in odd scents I wouldn't normally buy.
Actually, come to think of it, I usually forget to pack socks, too. I had to stop at Sports Authority (or whatever the big sports store in Crossgates is) to buy some last time I was up.
Socks! That's another one that vexes me.
I managed to bring the shoes and shirt I'll need to wear on black friday, but not the right pants.
Dicks, I think is the one in Crossgates. There's an Eastern Mountain Sports in Stuyvesant Plaza though.
Oh! Did Justin tell you Neil is coming down the weekend of the 30/1/2? Are you coming up?
It is officially a Magic-fest. But he wants to take time off from doing that to visit you and play movie-game.
I think Kristen should still come up anyway y/y?
Kristen should always come up anyway!
Awww, I can't, that's Victorian Christmas weekend at work. D:
In order of most frequently forgotten:
1. Toothbrush
2. Deodorant
3. Socks
4. Pants (ok, this only happened once, but it's worth mentioning)
Tell me about the pants forgetting!
I forgot my black pants for work on Friday.
I think it was one time we went to my Grandmother's for Thanksgiving. I somehow forgot to pack pants, so I only had the pair that I was wearing, and then a pair or two that I bought while down there.
Sillyness.
Things
tbone forgets:
*Cell phone charger (on long trips-- I never forget it on short trips, when I don't actually NEED it)
*Toothbrush and/or toothpaste
*Pajamas (because I never sleep nekkid, and even if I did, I'm going to my in-laws' house and... yeah)
I ALWAYS forget my damn pajamas.
This time it was spare razor blades. Also I ran out of toothpaste.
I'm always forgetting to bring combs and/or brushes.
Pajamas. I sleep in my underwear, but not if I'm going on a trip with people (Oh, God, don't let me forget to bring pajamas to Quebec City. Candice is not going to want to see me in my underwear on a nightly basis).
I usually forget to bring my toothbrush back from a trip. Same deal with my hairbrush, although I seem to forget that less often.
Deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, socks
I always forget deodorant too!
